The Seaventures Dive Resort Rig is the ultimate diver’s paradise. This former oil rig, having been converted into a diving destination, is a fantastic site with unlimited diving beneath its platform. It's probably the only commercial 'dive rig' in the world and there's no other one like it in Malaysia! Located off the north east coast of Borneo, just 1km from the white sand beaches of Mabul and only 20 mins from Sipadan’s world famous dive sites, Seaventures Dive Resort is the ideal base for your adventure holiday. Surrounded by the calm waters of the Celebes Sea, the resort is at the heart of the world’s best diving spots. Steep walls, huge schools of fish, remarkable critters and bustling reefs are just a boat ride away. Start your day with a dive alongside thousands of swirling barracuda, swim with turtles and sharks, explore the rich reefs of Mabul and Kapalai and finish with a remarkable sunset that only the Celebes Sea can deliver. Dive trips to Sipadan are scheduled every morning (*with valid Sipadan permits), leaving the afternoons free for exploring the macro-rich reefs of Mabul and Kapalai. Facilities

The customized 4-tier accommodation offers comfortable rooms, delicious food and non-stop diving, day or night. Seaventures Dive Resort has 28 comfortable rooms and 2 superb suites, accommodating a maximum of 45 guests with plenty of space and privacy. Each well-furbished and fully air-conditioned room has ample modern facilities, including fresh, clean water for your comfort throughout your stay, televisions so you can check your days underwater filming and lots of power points so you can recharge your batteries.

25 staff, including divemasters and instructors, will greet you with a smile and endeavour to make your adventure holiday as comfortable as possible, from the moment you step into the resort until you finally set foot back on dry land once again. Hot and cold refreshing drinks are available 24 hours a day, whilst delicious and satisfying meals are served buffet-style; finish your day with a drink and dinner on the sundeck, with its incredible 360 degree view of Mabul and the coastline of Borneo.For those interested in learning to dive, Seaventure is the perfect place to start your underwater career; in-house instructors can teach the full range of PADI courses, from Open Water to Assistant Instructor, as well as specialties such as Cavern Diver and Nitrox.

Other facilities include plenty of options for the non-diver: a karaoke lounge and bar, movie room, games room with pool tables and table tennis, children’s playroom, souvenir shop and even a conference room. Wireless internet access on the dive deck means you can stay in touch with the rest of the world and share your latest diving adventures, whilst a camera room means there is plenty of space for sorting out your underwater housing before each dive. Day 1: ARRIVAL TO SEAVENTURES RIG RESORT (Lunch/Dinner)  
Meet up at Semporna office. From Semporna Jetty, you will proceed to the Rig. Boat journey takes approximately 45 minutes, depending on the weather and sea conditions.  
Check in to your room then a dive briefing by the Seaventures Dive Team.  
Check out dive underneath the Rig.  
If you are qualified for night diving, you can do house reef night diving with your buddy. There is no additional charges for night diving, except for the torch should you have none of your own   

Day 2 - 4: SEAVENTURES DIVE RESORT (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
3 boat dives between Mabul or Kapalai or Sipadan ** + unlimited house reef diving with buddy underneath the Rig  
**Diving in Sipadan is subject to permit availability and approval from Sabah Parks Management.
However, if permit to Sipadan Island is not available and/or approved, please take note that the package remains in force for 3 boat dives and to be conducted between Mabul or Kapalai or nearby island.  

Day 5 : DEPARTURE (Breakfast/Lunch)
Maximum of 2 boat dives for guests without flight on departure day  
Check out at 1330hrs to Semporna 

What does it include?

* Return land transfer: Tawau airport / town – Semporna – Tawau airport / town  
* Return boat transfer: Semporna Jetty – Seaventures Rig Resort – Semporna
* All land & boat transfers are based on our scheduled time. Minimum two persons (2) per transfer
* Full board buffet meals (no ala carte meals), tea breaks & free flow of drinking water, coffee/tea served all day EXCEPT alcoholic and carbonated drinks
* Twin share accommodation in fully air-conditioned cabin, attached bathroom with hot shower

-Dive scheduling and grouping arrangement of divers shall be determined by the resort staff

What does it Exclude?

Insurance, flights, land transfers and Sipadan Permit (RM40.00 per person per day). The entry permit subject to availability and not a guarantee. All daily entry to dive or visit Sipadan Island will be subject to approval by Sabah Park Management, which is in control of issuing the entry permit. However, if permit to Sipadan is not available and/ or approve, please note that package shall remain in force for 3 dives and to be conducted at around Mabul, Kapalai or nearby island.

*The total number of divers or visitors allowed to visit Sipadan island is restricted to 120 persons per day.

Getting here

The gateway to Sipadan is the sleepy town of Tawau located in Sabah, East Malaysia. Tawau is accessible by flight via Kuala Lumpur or Kota Kinabalu and Kuching, the capitals of Sabah and Sarawak respectively. Malaysia airlines and AirAsia. the region’s low cost carrier have daily flights to Tawau. From Tawau airport, there will be a private transfer to Sempoerna jetty, around 75 minutes away. Sempoerna is the launchpoint to Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai and Mataking islands.

Best time to visit

Diving is possible all year round at Sipadan although January and August is expected to have rougher weather.
