Visit the scientific haven, Danum Valley Field Centre (DVFC). DVFC is located west of Lahad Datu, Sabah's fourth largest town. It is located within Danum Valley Conservation Area which of comprises 43,800 hectares (438 sq km) of virgin forest located within the upper reaches of Sabah's second largest river, the Segama and its tributaries, making it part of the Ulu Segama Forest Reserve.
Located near Karangan town and in the Gunung Inas Nature Reserve, Sedim Recreation Park/ Hutan Rekreasi Sungai Sedim is the only location for whitewater rafting and kayak enthusiasts located in the north-west states. There are as many as 24 rapids within a 16km run (full day rafting) so you can expect some major excitement and screams on this ride!
Another spectacular actitivity here is to walk the longest Tree Top Walk in the world (925m).
